If you are a Canadian veteran, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) has many financial support options to improve quality of life and encourage independent living. The benefits vary from person to person so it is best to contact their office directly to see what is available to you, however one option may be the VIP (Veterans Independence Program). As of 2017, the VIP covers $10,720.48 per client per year for grounds maintenance sercices, personal care services, housekeeping services, and access to nutrition and health support services.

If you have had a disability award and meet the criteria, the VAC also offers an annual Family Caregiver Relief Benefit which provides $7427.41 to provide respite funding for informal caregivers.
